ISIS squeezed into last areas as SDF troops capture two villages east of the Euphrates

The Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) is on its last legs in the eastern Euphrates region as their fighters have lost more ground to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) this week.

Backed by heavy artillery strikes from their U.S. and French partners, the Syrian Democratic Forces scored an important gain on Thursday when their troops captured the villages of Murashida and Arqoub.

The Syrian Democratic Forces are now working to clear the remaining Islamic State pocket that is located along the eastern bank of the Euphrates River.

According to the latest reports from Deir Ezzor, the remaining Islamic State terrorists are trying to cross the Euphrates and enter the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) territory.

These ISIS fighters are hoping to reach the desert region that is located just west of Deir Ezzor city.
