Six Syrian pro-government militants killed in an attack by the Islamic State terrorists
At least six pro-government militiamen were killed this Tuesday in an attack by alleged members of the Islamic State in the Syrian province of Raqqa (north), according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The London-based organization with informants in the Arab country has indicated that the jihadists attacked a vehicle operated by these militias between the towns of Al Tabani and Maadan in the south of the province and killed three militiamen.
He also pointed out that another attack on the Islamic State in the area resulted in the death of three members of the Palestinian-Syrian Liwa al Quds militia, which had teamed up with forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al Assad.

The area is located in the triangle formed by the borders of the provinces of Aleppo, Hama and Raqqa. Attacks by Islamic State have increased in recent months. Russia has stepped up its bombing in the region in support of government forces.
