Six Islamic State terrorists killed in Quetta operation in Pakistan
Six suspected terrorists have been killed during an operation in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province.
The Islamic State (IS) group terrorists were killed during an overnight raid in the Eastern Bypass area of Quetta by the counterterrorism department (CTD).
A CTD spokesman said heavy gunfire was exchanged during the intelligence-based operation, which led to the seizure of arms, ammunition and explosive material from the militants.
In a statement, the spokesman claimed a “huge terrorism plan” of the banned outfit had been averted in the provincial capital.
While refusing to surrender, the militants started firing indiscriminately and lobbed grenades. In the ensuing shootout, six fighters were killed while four others managed to escape.
