Six Islamic State members captured in Mosul
The Iraqi security forces have captured six members of the Islamic State (IS) in Mosul city.
The six insurgents were captured during a joint operation by Iraq’s counter-terrorism and Nineveh Police forces in the city of Mosul on Saturday, Iraqi reports said.
Among the jihadists were those who worked in the insurgent group’s al-Amniyah and al-Hisbah, as well as militants of the so called Diwan al-Jund.
The arrests come as the militant group is yet to be eradicated in Iraq despite the fact that the country declared the “full victory” over the Islamic State in 2017.
