Shahid Khan served 20 months in prison in 2013 after travelling to Pakistan with the intention of taking part in terrorism training.

He was subject to a part four notification order for 10 years under the Terrorism Act 2008 and Counter Terrorism and Border Security Act 2019.

Between November 2019 and May 2020 he had acquired two replacement bank cards linked to his main NatWest account and had opened a Monzo account without telling police, whom he was required to notify of any changes in his financial information within three days, the court heard.

Investigations also revealed he was using a mobile phone which detectives were unaware of.

Khan was jailed for 40 months in 2013 after pleading guilty to one count of engaging in conduct in preparation for terrorism, namely travelling to a terrorist training camp in Pakistan.
