Several people killed and injured by suicide car bomb blast in western Afghanistan

Al-Jazeera television now reported in a breaking news item that a car bomb had exploded in Herat, western Afghanistan.

According to the report, the incident took place at the Herat police headquarters, killing and injuring several people.

Afghan officials have not yet commented on the matter.

No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
