Russian secret service FSB detained 60 ISIS recruiters in Moscow
Russian secret services and police swooped to detain 60 ‘foreigners’ accused of acting as recruiting agents for ISIS in Moscow.
Footage shows armed special forces troops raiding apartments in the city and surrounding region.
The ‘jihadist detainees’ are believed to be from ex-Soviet republics in central Asia.
They are accused of recruiting in Russia and sending people to fight in Syria and Iraq, using women as ‘couriers’.
The FSB believe they have smashed a major route to feed ISIS forces with raw ‘cannon fodder’ recruits who may not understand the dangers.
A joint police and FSB statement said: ‘Sixty foreigners were detained. Also large sums of cash were also seized.
’17 apartments were searched, and we discovered three laboratories for making fake documents’.
This major operation seized equipment for making fake immigration cards, and bogus passports.
The haul included 200 blanks showing temporary address registration, 200 fake immigration cards, 50 medical documents, 40 credit cards, 50 passports from central Asian citizens, and 100 stamps used verify entry and exit from Russia.
