Security forces kill three ISIS terrorists and arrest three in Salahudin and Diyala

On Monday, Iraqi security forces murdered three Islamic State (IS) militants and detained three alleged local IS leaders in two incidents in the central provinces of Salahudin and Diyala, a security source emphasized.

The Iraqi army’s helicopter gunships hit an IS hideout in Mteibijah area in Salahudin province close to the provincial border with Diyala, murder three IS militants and damaging their hideout, Sadiq al-Husseini, head of the security committee of Diyala’s provincial council, informed Xinhua.

Separately, security forces acted on intelligence reports and carried out search operations across Diyala province, ended up with detaining three suspects believed to be local IS leaders, al-Husseini stated, adding the detainees are now being questioned by security forces.

Regardless of repeated military operations in Diyala, a number of Daesh terrorists are still concealing in some rugged areas close to the border with Iran, and in the sprawling areas extending from the western part of the province to the Himreen mountain range in the northern part of the province.
