Iraqi security arrests 8 ISIS terrorists in Kirkuk
The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced on Tuesday that eight ISIS terrorists were arrested in different areas in the Kirkuk governorate in northern Iraq.
The Ministry of Interior mentioned in a statement that the Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency (FIIA) arrested eight terrorists in separate areas in Kirkuk governorate, who were wanted according to the provisions of Article 4 of the Terrorism Law, for their affiliation with the terrorist group of ISIS.
The statement revealed that the suspects, during investigations, confessed that they worked for the terrorist group after receiving special training.
The statement added that one of the suspects was transporting foodstuffs and aid to ISIS terrorists.
The Ministry indicated that the necessary legal measures were taken against the suspects.
On April 22, the Iraqi National Security Agency announced it thwarted a plan targeting Kirkuk markets after arresting two members belonging to ISIS, one of whom was a prominent member called ‘Abu Dujana.’
The two terrorists admitted that they were preparing to target citizens and security agencies in separate areas of Kirkuk governorate during the coming days, to destabilize security and create a state of terror and chaos through a series of explosions in crowded public markets.
