SDF hands over number of Islamic State detained terrorists to the Iraqi government
The Media Center of SDF issued a statement regarding the handover of ISIS mercenaries detained in NES prisons to the federal government, that reads:
“Our competent bodies handed over 100 ISIS’ detainees that hold Iraqi citizenship and are detained in NES prisons to Iraqi federal government, according to a work schedule previously prepared between our forces and the Iraqi side, during the last period, to hand over ISIS members, who are wanted to Iraqi judiciary.
The transfer took place in the official Syrian-Iraqi border, where their access was secured by our forces and the Iraqi army.
Over the past years, our forces have handed over several groups of ISIS’ detainees who hold Iraqi citizenship to the Iraqi government, while hundreds of them are still in NES prisons.
