Sameh Bayda is a Sydney man convicted of plotting a terrorist attack on New Year’s Eve 2015 with his wife Alo-Bridget Namoa.

His phone contained a vast amount of extremist material, including graphic images and videos of beheadings and soldiers carrying Islamic flags, and communications to each other.

The couple who described themselves as an “Islamic Bonnie and Clyde” have been found guilty in an Australian court of planning a New Year’s Eve terrorist stabbing attack on non-Muslims.

Bayda was allegedly found with Arabic documents on how to carry out a stabbing and how to make an improvised explosive device (IED).

Prosecutors alleged that Bayda had given Namoa the knife and said each believed they had a “religious obligation to attack non-believers”.
