Russia’s Federal Security Service detained terrorism financiers in Tatarstan and Crimea
Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) detained financiers of the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group in Tatarstan and Crimea, that entity’s Public Relations Center informed on Tuesday.
The FSB, in cooperation with Rosfinmonitoring, suppressed in the Republics of Crimea and Tatarstan the activities of citizens involved in the funding of that terrorist organization.
Under the guise of charitable aid, IS collaborators raised funds for their terrorist actions in the world’s different countries.
According to the FSB, a group of people was arrested during the operations. They, from 2015 to 2019, through the communities created online under the guise of a charitable aid, raised funds to transfer aid abroad for Islamic militants.
Communication, computer and magnetic storage devices were seized during searches.
