Russian teenagers arrested for plotting a terrorist attack on a school in Russia
Two teenagers accused of planning a terror attack on a school have been arrested in Russia.
The teenagers’ plot was reportedly uncovered by investigators through correspondence online.
The two suspects are from the city of Lyubertsy in Moscow Oblast.
The arrests were confirmed by a source in the emergency services, according to a report by state-owned news agency RIA Novosti.
An interrogation of the two suspects is now underway, the news agency reported.
It comes after a teenager, 18, from Tula was detained by officers in December 2020 after allegedly planning an attack on a school.
‘The Federal Security Service apprehended a Tula resident, born in 2002, who was preparing an armed attack on an educational facility,’ the security service said, as quoted by TASS.
During the arrest late last year, officers seized a sawed-off shotgun and communication devices containing material about similar crimes.
