Russian planes start new round of attacks on Islamic State hideouts in Syrian desert
Reliable sources have informed SOHR that Russian fighter jets renewed their airstrikes on positions in the Syrian desert, where they executed nearly 25 airstrikes in the past few hours.
These airstrikes targeted positions, believed to be ISIS hideouts, in Al-Rasafah desert in Al-Raqqah province and other positions in Deir Ezzor desert. However, no casualties have been reported so far.
Accordingly, the number of airstrikes executed by Russian fighter jets on the Syrian desert since early April has risen to 130.
On Tuesday, Observatory sources reported that Russian fighter jets executed over 40 airstrikes on the Syrian desert in Al-Rasafa desert, Al-Sukhnah and Deir Ezzor. This was the largest number of airstrikes in a single round in nearly a month.
