Russian fighter jets strike Islamic State positions in al-Rasafah
Russian fighter jets executed nearly ten airstrikes on ISIS hideouts in al-Rasafah desert in the western countryside of al-Raqqah, but no casualties have been reported.
Today’s airstrikes coincided with routine combing operations by regime forces, searching for ISIS cells in several areas in the desert.
On Tuesday, SOHR sources reported that nearly four Russian fighter jets executed nearly 15 airstrikes on positions where ISIS members hiding in the area between east Hama desert and al-Rasafah desert in al-Raqqah running through Ithirya and al-Rahjan.
These airstrikes, which coincided with routine combing operations in searching for ISIS cells in several positions in the Syrian desert, came nearly 11 hours after suspension of aerial operations in the desert.
