Islamic State claims responsibility for killing at least 30 Nigerian soldiers
Islamic State said on Sunday it had killed 30 Nigerian soldiers in an attack on Jan. 26 at Lomani village in the country’s northeastern Borno state.
The militant group made the claim in a statement issued through its news agency, Amaq. Islamic State in West Africa (ISWA), which split from Islamist group Boko Haram in 2016, has carried out a number of attacks in northeast Nigeria in the last few months.
