Relative of Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar among the three terrorists killed in Pulwama
As many as three terrorits affiliated to Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed, including an IED expert were gunned down in an encounter with security forces in Kangan area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday morning.
As per reports, one of the slain terrorists, identified as Abdul Rehman alias Fauji Bhaiis is believed to be relative of JeM chief Masood Azhar. Rehman had reportedly hatched a plan to carry out a vehicle-borne IED attack in Pulwama recently which was averted by the security forces.
“Out of the three terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed which were neutralised today, one has been identified as Abdul Rehman alias Fauji Bhai, an IED expert. He belongs to Multan, Pakistan and was active in South Kashmir since 2017. Other two are being identified, said Vijay Kumar, IGP Kashmir.
Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Kangan area this morning following sepcific information about presence of terrorists there, a police official said.
When the security forces asked the terrorists to surrender they opened fire towards thier positions, triggering a gunfight.
