ISIS regional leader arrested in Kirkuk

The Iraqi forces have captured an Islamic State (IS) leader in the south of Kirkuk province, Iraqi ministry of interior announced on Saturday.

The IS leader was on terror list of the intelligence forces and he had served as the aide to IS top military commander of Qadisiya region, ministry spokesperson Saad Maan said in a statement.

The man was arrested during a special operation by the countertenor and intelligence forces, the statement added.

No more details on the name and nationality of the suspect was released.
