Hamas chief receives senior Afghan delegation
Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh received on Tuesday evening a delegation from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, headed by its government spokesperson.
Both sides addressed the situation in Jerusalem, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the occupied West Bank, in addition to regional and international developments.
The meeting was attended by Hamas deputy chief Saleh al-Arouri and the Hamas chief’s media aide Taher al-Nunu.
The Afghan government spokesperson saluted Hamas and the Palestinian resistance, reaffirming support for the Palestinian people and their rights and resistance to the occupation.
Both sides reiterated the necessity to cement bilateral relations and the importance for all Muslims to unite behind the Palestinian cause.
The Hamas chief, in return, hailed Afghanistan for its positions in support of the Palestinian cause.
Haniyeh pointed to the continued crimes committed by the Israeli occupation in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, mourning the death of Palestinian martyrs shot dead by Israeli occupation forces early Tuesday in Nablus.
