High-ranking ISIS terrorist group member captured in Mosul

Iraqi security forces on Wednesday captured a high-ranking Islamic State (IS) member in the northern city of Mosul where was once the group’s stronghold in Iraq.

According to a statement by Iraqi Security Media Center, cited by Iraqi News, the insurgent was captured while trying to escape from the eastern side of Mosul to the western side of the massive city.

Elsewhere in Baaj, west of Mosul, security forces arrested 17 other people suspected of affiliation with IS.
