Police in Islamabad detained eleven members of terrorist gangs
Police have intensified crackdown against anti-social elements by arresting 11 persons involved in displaying weapons and resorting to aerial firing besides posting videos on social media, informed a police spokesman on Saturday.
The crackdown against the anti-social elements had been launched on special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Qazi Jamil Ur Rehman, he said.
According to him, Inspector General Police (IGP) Islamabad Qazi Jamil ur Rehman has directed a full-scale crackdown against those involved in aerial firing and display of weapons especially on social media.
The police moving on the directions of SSP (Operations) Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanweer arrested 11 persons from different areas of the district during the past four days. Separate cases have been registered at police stations Aabpara, Kohsar, Secretariat, Ramna, Golra, Sihala, Tarnol and Lohi Bher.
The IGP said that the police’s social media cell continuously monitors the activities of the people involved in aerial firing and other crimes. He said such persons would be dealt with iron hand.
