Planted by “ISIS” | Landmine explosion leaves member of Iranian-backed “Al-Baqir Brigade” dead in eastern countryside of Hama
A member of the Iranian-backed “Al-Baqir Brigade” was killed as a result of the explosion of a mine planted by “ISIS” members on Athreya Road in Salamiyah countryside, east of Hama.
According to SOHR statistics, the number of fatalities in military operations in the Syrian desert since early 2024 has increased to 168; and they are as follows:
• 22 ISIS members were killed by regime forces and their proxy militias.
• 128 members of regime forces and their proxy militias, including 13 Iranian-backed Syrian militiamen, were killed in 67 operations by ISIS members, including ambushes, armed attacks, and explosions, in west Euphrates region and the deserts of Deir Ezzor, Al-Raqqah, Homs.
• 18 civilians, including a child, were killed in attacks by ISIS in the Syrian desert.
Here is a regional distribution of ISIS attacks:
Deir Ezzor desert: 23 operations left 51 fatalities:
• 43 combatants, including seven Iranian-backed militiamen.
• Five ISIS members.
• Three civilians, including two truffle pickers.
Homs desert: 32 operations left 72 fatalities:
• 50 combatants, including three Iranian-backed militiamen.
• 14 ISIS members.
• Eight civilian.
Al-Raqqah desert: Six operations left 17 fatalities:
• 15 combatants.
• Three ISIS members.
Hama desert: Five operations left 24 fatalities:
• 17 combatants.
• 7 civilians, including a child.
Aleppo: One operation left three Iranian-backed militiamen dead.
