This has been revealed in the further questioning which was carried out on April 21, after the main suspect of the Easter Sunday attacks Mohammad Abdullah Haq was taken to the Terrorist Investigation Department for re-interrogation.
He was allowed to be brought back to the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) for further questioning by Colombo Additional Magistrate Pasan Amarasinghe on April 21 based on the reports given by the Australian Government.

The TID filing a motion yesterday (28) said that the mobile phone used by Abdullah in contact with foreign terrorists has belonged to his friend, Mohammed Fausan, who is also a prime suspect in the Easter Sunday attacks. The TID investigators sought court permission to question the suspect. The TID informed the court the these suspects are being investigated based on the statement made by Al-Qaeda member in Sri Lanka, Ruman Thalib who was arrested in Australia.
