General Info:
Parviz Khan is a terrorist from Birmingham who planned to kidnap and behead a British Muslim soldier.
He plotted to lure the soldier off the streets with the promise of drugs before killing him “like a pig” and filming his beheading.
Also to mention, Khan is a follower of Anjem Choudary who is an internationally designated Islamist cleric and convicted Islamic State supporter.
The father-of-three admitted the kidnap plot and was jailed for a minimum of 14-years in 2008.
Khan reportedly became radicalized in his early thirties following a visit to Pakistan.
After another visit to Pakistan in 2006, Khan became deeply radicalized and began watching a lot of anti-west propaganda material.
Inspired by Choudary’s al-Muhajiroun network, Khan reportedly became the leader of an Islamist gang that plotted to kidnap and kill a member of the British armed forces on November 1, 2006.
Khan has pleaded guilty to supplying equipment to terrorists in Pakistan and two counts of being in possession of a record or document likely to be of use to a terrorist.
Also, Khan admitted to being angry that Muslims were serving in the British Army-which he portrayed as fighting Islam in Iraq and afghanistan.
He was claiming benefits of more than £20,000-per-year and claimed to be the carer for his elderly mother during the time of the kidnap plot.
On October 28, 2021, media sources reported that Khan, along with two other of Choudary’s followers, applied for release.
If approved by the parole board, Khan would potentially be released sometime in 2022.
