Pakistani authorities arrested two terrorism suspects with arms
The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) foiled a terrorism plan in Dera Ghazi Khan in an intelligence based operation by arresting two suspected terrorists of proscribed organisation al-Qaida Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) on Wednesday.
Three hand grenades, one pistol, Rs 105,000 in cash, 20 sleeping bags and banned booklets were seized from them. A Dera Ghazi Khan CTD team received information that two terrorists were present at the bypass in the limits of Drahma police station, DG Khan district. They were waiting for their accomplices to receive from them terrorism financing funds, material and banned literature. They had planned to launch attack on an office of a sensitive agency in DG Khan. The CTD team raided and arrested the terror suspects namely M Ismail and Wali Muhammad.
The meeting, held at Chief Secretary’s Office in Civil Secretariat on Wednesday, reviewed promotion cases of officers of different provincial departments in grade 19 and 20. Those recommended for promotion to grade 20 include 10 officers of Irrigation Department, three of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department and one of Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department. Likewise, nine officers of Public Prosecution Department and eight of Livestock Department were recommended for promotion to grade 19 whereas one officer of Services and General Administration Department was also promoted to grade 19 as Chief Protocol Officer, CM’s Office.
