Nigerian police authorities killed two terrorists in the Katsina community
A joint security team made up of the Nigeria Police Force and vigilante in Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State has killed two terrorists during a shootout with terrorists at Sabon Dawa village in the council.
According to the spokesperson for the Katsina State Police Command, SP Gambo Isah, who confirmed the development on Wednesday, said the shootout occurred on Tuesday evening.
Isah explained, “On 21, June 2022 at about 5 p.m, a distress call was received that terrorists in their numbers, armed with AK47 rifles, attacked Sabon Dawa village, Zakka District, Safana LGA of Katsina State.
“DPO Safana led a combined team of police and vigilante to the area, engaged the terrorists in a fierce gun duel, neutralised two of the terrorists and foiled their heinous mission.”
The Commissioner of Police, Katsina State, Idrisu Dauda, in his reaction, commended the security team and the community for their resilience, stating that they “stood ground and defended the community from terrorist attack.”
He assured residents of the state that “the police would continue to do everything possible to ensure safety and security of their communities.”
