Nigerian Air Force airstrikes eliminate ISWAP senior commanders in Borno
The air squad of Operation Hadarin Kai (OPHK) carried out a precise airstrike on the hideouts of ISWAP terrorists in Kolleram village along Lake Chad.
This happened on April 13, 2024, and it led to the elimination of more than 30 terrorists, including senior commanders Ali Dawud, Bakura Fallujah, and Mallam Ari.
Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, who is the Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, confirmed the success of the operation in a statement today.
In his statement, he mentioned that the operation conducted on April 13, 2024, was highly successful. The assessment after the strike showed that more than 30 terrorists were eliminated.
Some important commanders like Ali Dawud, Bakura Fallujah, and Mallam Ari were among those neutralized. Additionally, many vehicles, motorcycles, and logistical assets were destroyed, severely impacting the terrorists’ abilities to operate.
Intelligence gathered after the airstrike indicated that a key facility in the Kolleram area, which was used by the terrorists for food processing activities, was effectively destroyed by the aerial bombardment. This included grinding machines used by the terrorists.
The success of these airstrikes highlights the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to fighting terrorism and ensuring the safety of Nigerian citizens.
By targeting key terrorist figures and destroying their logistical infrastructure, the operation has significantly reduced the capabilities of the ISWAP group in the region.
These airstrikes, along with the ongoing efforts of ground forces in the Lake Chad area, are an important step forward in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria.
