New documents confirm the Iranian involvement in supporting, financing and harboring the leaders of al-Qaeda
New documents confirm the involvement of the Republic of Iran in supporting, financing and harboring the leaders of al-Qaeda, including its deceased spiritual leader Osama bin Laden. These actions serve Iran’s own interests in the region.
The documents shows a call by bin Laden, calling on his loyalists not to fight Iran. Activists assert that the documents reinforce the conviction that Iran is implicated in the formation of extremist organizations like al-Qaeda and ISIS and benefits from their actions, which affect the majority of Iran’s neighboring countries without causing it any detriment.
According to a report presented by Al-Arabiya Al-Hadath TV channel, Iran is currently harboring several al-Qaeda leaders targeted by US sanctions.
These include Faisal Al Amri, a top al-Qaeda official and commander of one of its battalions, Yisra Muhammad Bayoumi, the financier of Al Nusra Front in Syria, as well as Abu Bakr Muhammad Ghumayn who is in charge of the financial and administrative affairs of al-Qaeda members in Iran.
