Naweed Ali is a British national from Sparkhill, Birmingham who was arrested on August 26, 2016 – after undercover police and MI5 agents found a bag stuffed with a partially constructed pipe bomb, an imitation gun and a meat cleaver with ‘KAFIR’ (infidel), scratched onto the blade in 29-year-old Naweed Ali’s black Seat Leon car.

The Seat Leon had been parked at the Birmingham depot of Hero Couriers, a fake firm operated by undercover officers tasked with infiltrating convicted terrorists Hussain and Ali’s lives through delivery shifts.

They used encrypted messaging service Telegram while amassing weapons including a cleaver with “infidel” carved in the blade.

Officers then found the other weapons and ammunition and later uncovered the Three Musketeers group on the Telegram app.
