The National Investigative Agency to quiz JeM terrorist Sajjad Khan
The Delhi Police have arrested Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist Sajjad Khan, who is said to be a close associate of Pulwama attack mastermind. According to police, 27-year-old Sajjad Khan, a resident of Pulwama was arrested from near Lajpat Rai Market, Delhi, late yesterday night (March 22).
Sajjad Khan was wanted by the National Investigative Agency (NIA). A team will question Sajjad in connection with the Pulwama attack. A case against Sajjad has been lodged by the NIA under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
According to a senior officer of Delhi Special Cell, “Sajjad Khan is an associate of Muddasir Khan, who was the mastermind of Pulwama attack and was killed in an exchange of fire with security Forces in J&K recently. Sajjad Khan was tasked by Mudassir to establish a sleeper cell in Delhi.”
According to sources, In order to hide his identity, Sajjad was working in Delhi as a shawl trader. It is said that Sajjad was communicating with Mudassir and Pakistani terrorist Yasir via an app using fake numbers.
According to the probe agency, Sajjad Khan was aware of the attack on the CRPF convoy in Pulwama and was part of the conspiracy. Sajjad’s two brothers were also Jaish terrorists and killed by the forces in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir. One of his brothers was killed in an encounter along with Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar’s nephew Usman in South Kashmir’s Tral in October 2018.
On February 14, in a suicide attack, 40 CRPF personnel were martyred in Kashmir. The suicide attacker was identified as Ahmed Dar, who was working in behest of Jaish terrorist, Mudassir Ahmed Khan.
