Muslim extremist aged 24 posted ISIS recruitment videos on Instagram and Facebook
A Muslim extremist who used Instagram and Facebook to spread terror videos by ISIS and Al Qaeda is facing years behind bars today.
Sabbir Miah, 24, was first arrested in December after he posted propaganda films featuring extremist cleric Anwar Al-Awlaki and jihadi commander Abu Usama al Maghrabi.
He was released on bail and went on to post the ISIS recruitment video ‘What are you waiting for?’ on Instagram and ‘Jihad is the way’ on both Instagram and WhatsApp.
Miah was arrested for a second time in February and charged with disseminating terrorist publications.
He appeared at the Old Bailey to plead guilty to five charges of disseminating a terrorist publication on the basis he was reckless as to whether it would encourage terror attacks.
Judge Stephen Kramer QC ordered one of the counts lie on file and fixed sentencing for June 19.
Miah, who has no previous convictions, is facing a maximum jail term of seven years for disseminating a terrorist publication.
He had been charged with three of the offences in December last year, and then charged with a further three offences committed while on court bail.
Miah, of Forest Gate, east London, was remanded in custody.
