Status: A senior commander in Hezbollah since the early days of the organization, known as the supreme commander of Hezbollah units in the Golan Heights.

Since 2016 commander of the 90th brigade of the Syrian army (an unusual event in which a Hezbollah man serves as a senior member of the Syrian army).

This is Hezbollah’s most senior military position in Syria. After the assassination of Mustafa Mustafa Badreddine in 2016, Nasrallah appointed him as his successor in this position.


Role: All his career until today he has been in the shadows. In the early 2000s, he was the commander of Hezbollah’s Unit 1800, which is responsible for directing terrorist attacks within the State of Israel. He was responsible for the attack in 2002 near Kibbutz Mitzvah in which six Israelis were murdered.

Later, he was appointed commander of the Shekra area in Hezbollah, which he also commanded during the Second Lebanon War.

After the war, he first became the deputy commander of the Badr unit, which is responsible in Hezbollah for the area between the Litani River and the Awali River.

His son Jawad is functioning as his advisor in Syria.

He has several apartments in both countries, and he has a personal bodyguard.

He is around 57-58 years old.
