More than 2000 Islamic State terrorists plot to infiltrate into Iraq
More than 2,000 militants of the Islamic State (IS) have plotted to infiltrate into Iraq from Syria, a politician revealed on Monday.
Jabr al-Zubeidi, a former commander of the pro-Iranian Iraqi Badr Brigades and a senior member of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, warned in a statement that the jihadists may sneak into the province of Salahaddin.
He called on the security forces in Salahaddin to take all the necessary measures to foil the suspected plot.
The warning comes while the Islamic State militant group has lately regrouped itself in the majority of the liberated areas in Iraq.
The jihadists carried out an attack on the Makhmour refugees camp in south of Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, on Sunday night.
