Status: Commander of “Hezbollah’s air force/ air array “the UAV unit.


Role: He was responsible for launching the UAVs towards Israel since October 2023 from Lebanon and Yemen. Srour joined Hezbollah in the 1980s and performed a variety of roles, including commanding a surface-to-air missile unit, the “Aziz” unit in the Radwan force.

At the beginning of August 2006, while serving as a fighter in Hezbollah’s anti-tank unit, Srour participated in the battle of Ayita al-Sha’ab and was captured by IDF fighters who besieged the village. In July 2008, Srour was released along with Samir Kuntar and three other Hezbollah prisoners as part of a prisoner exchange deal between Israel and the terrorist organization. In the following years, he was Hezbollah’s envoy to Yemen regarding the Houthis’ air array. He directed and commanded attacks by drones, cruise missiles, and UAVs aimed at the rear of the State of Israel.

He also headed a project to manufacture explosive UAVs and collect intelligence in Lebanon. Srour was responsible for the aerial activity of the Houthis in Yemen, and for launching missiles and drones from there to Israel. He returned from Yemen to Lebanon only three days before his assassination.
