Iraqi military intelligence overthrows ISIS Diwan al-Dawa head in Ramadi
The Military Intelligence Directorate announced, on Monday, overthrowing the Head of the Islamic State Diwan al-Dawa w al-Irshad (Guidance Bureau) in Ramadi.
The directorate revealed in a press statement that based on accurate intelligence information, security forces from the Military Intelligence Directorate, backed by the 38th infantry brigade, managed to overthrow one of the terrorists and arrest him in Sufiya area in Ramadi.
The terrorist is responsible for the so-called Islamic State’s Diwan al-Dawa w al-Irshad, the statement added. He is also wanted on terrorism charges.
Earlier today, security forces arrested one of the Islamic State terrorists in central Baghdad, after ambushing him, backed by a detachment from Baghdad Intelligence Directorate in Karrada.
It is noteworthy that Iraq declared victory over the Islamic State group in December 2017, while security forces are frequently apprehending suspects on criminal and terrorism charges in different areas of the country.
