Man shouting Allahu Akbar spills gasoline at the city hall in Vienna

On Wednesday shortly before noon at the entrance to the city hall on Lichtenfelsgasse in Vienna, a man (32-year-old) arrived with a bike in front of the city hall and spilled a liquid – most likely gasoline while shouting Allahu Akbar, raising panic among the people.

The suspect after spilling the liquid knelled and started to pray, when he finished with the prayer he attempted to enter the city hall.

The city hall security overwhelm the man to enter the building, the police intervened quickly at the place. The Austrian authorities are investigating if the attempt was a terrorist attack.
