Man in Malaga financed his wife to become a jihadist

Prosecutors are asking that Fouad L. be jailed for 10 years.

Police consider that his wife, Fadoua A. is one of the most wanted and dangerous terrorists in Europe.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office alleges that between March and November 2016, the suspect allegedly made “constant contributions” of money from Malaga to cover his wife’s travel expenses to Turkey/Syria to join the armed Jihad.

The cash also helped a 25-year-old Palestinian man whom she had met on the Internet and who was considered an intermediate level commander in the Daesh logistical network.

Both of them managed to join up with the terrorist group in Syria, according to the prosecutor, where she became a fighter and entered combat – a role Daesh only allows to the most dangerous women.

Back in Malaga, Fouad L. sent cash via Western Union amounting to €6,329.80, in the full knowledge that his wife was going to become a “foreign fighter,” it is alleged.

Fadoua A. has not returned to Spain, but security forces are on high alert for “foreign fighters” making their way back.
