Man from Edinburgh appeared in court accused of supporting Hezbollah terror activities
Firoz Madhani, 66, is alleged to have published statements on Twitter that glorified terrorist acts and encouraged acts of violence to take place.
Madhani, of Duff Street, is also said to have incited violence against governments during the alleged rants on social media sites between September 2 and 21 last year.
He appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today and pleaded not guilty to two charges under the Terrorism Act 2000. He will return to court to stand trial next April.
Madhani also denied a charge of expressing an opinion that is supportive of Hezbollah and posting messages on social media in support of the terrorist group on September 2 last year.
Hezbollah has been deemed to be a terrorist organisation by at least 21 countries in the European Union and most member states of the Arab League since 2017.
