Man arrested in Solihull on suspicion of terrorism offences
A man has been arrested in Solihull on suspicion of terrorism offences.
A 49-year-old man was arrested this morning (Wednesday) on suspicion of funding/supporting terrorism.
The arrest was carried out by West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit detectives and the man is being questioned at a police station in the West Midlands.
West Midlands Police say the arrest was pre-planned and intelligence-led and no risk to the public.
As part of the investigation, officers are also carrying out a search of an address.
The force says the arrest is not linked to the London Bridge terror attack and enquiries into this matter were underway prior to the incident on November 29.
