Man arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences further detained by the UK authorities
Officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command have been granted a warrant of further detention for a man they arrested on Friday, 7 August.
The warrant of further detention, which they obtained at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 8 August, allows them to detain the man in custody until this Friday, 14 August.
On Friday 7 August, officers from the Met’s Police Counter Terrorism Command arrested a 29-year-old man at an address in north London on suspicion of being involved with the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism, under section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
He was taken to a south London police station, where he remains in custody.
Officers also searched the address in north London. The search is now complete.
