Malaysian teen pledges support to ISIS terrorist group
A video has emerged in various Islamic State (ISIS) affiliated chat groups of a teenage Malaysian militant earnestly declaring his support for the terror outfit.
Wearing black clothes and a balaclava, the militant, believed to be a 17-year-old boy from here, is seen holding the IS flag and a bottle stuffed with cloth, most likely a molotov cocktail.
It is believed that the boy aimed to use the molotov cocktail against “enemies” of IS.
The video was shared in two telegram groups – the Group Share Channel 2 and Group Tauhid – as well as several WhatsApp groups, including Panji2 Hitam Malaysia and Audio Video Islamic State.
The video depicted the boy as being determined to act on behalf of IS in engaging war against supposed secular governments.
“Kepada pasukan toghut, kerajaan toghut, kami akan lancar serangan atas pusat-pusat maksiat (To unIslamic security forces and governments, we are going to attack entertainment outlets.)
“Kamu tunggu laa, tak lama lagi, dan insyallah kami akan menang (Wait and see, we will do so soon and we will win),” he said in the 27-second video, sounding determined to fulfil his goal.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said the Bukit Aman Special Branch Counter-Terrorism Division detained the suspect on April 20.
“We are aware of the video and the alleged threat made by this boy,” he said.
“We arrested him in Kuala Lumpur last Friday.
“We have always been proactive in nabbing IS militants and thwarting their terror plans.”
Since February 2013, the division has held 389 militants and thwarted 19 terror plots.
