Major attack foiled as three ISIS sympathisers arrested in Coimbatore
Based on a special report submitted by a Sub Inspector of Tamil Nadu Police, Special Investigation wing has arrested three people who were planning to carry out suicide attacks in religious places to create fear in minds of people in Coimbatore.
The special report states that the three accused Muhammed Hussain, Shajahan and Sheik Saifullah were planning to carry out suicide attacks in Coimbatore.
The FIR states that the accused also had intentions to eliminate the people who are against the jihadi ideology and certain officials in the intelligence unit.
All the three were extreme sympathisers of ISIS and have translated the ISIS ideological texts in Tamil to circulate among the youngsters to lure them in to ISIS and form a module.
All three were constantly praising the Sri Lankan bomb blast accused Zahran Hashim for the Sri Lankan attacks.
Following the NIA searches in seven places in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu police searched three places and detained the three accused.
All the three has been arrested under UAPA act.
