Libyan army killed seven terrorists in Darna
Libya’s eastern-based army on Monday killed 7 terrorists in the eastern city of Darna, according to a military source.
“Violent clashed have been going on since Sunday until Monday noon against the terrorists in their remaining pocket in the old town (central Darna),” the source told Xinhua.
“Our forces managed to kill 7 terrorists without suffering any casualties,” the source said, confirming that the military action against the remaining terrorists in the area would be completed in a few days.
Last week, 12 soldiers were killed in battles against the terrorists in downtown Darna, according to the army’s spokesman.
The army, led by Gen. Khalifa Haftar, is allied with the eastern-based government, as the country is politically divided between two governments in the east and the west, both competing for legitimacy.
