Letter: Pro-Palestinian protesters ignoring Hamas atrocities
Where were the pro-Palestinian protesters when Assad tortured hundreds and killed thousands of Palestinians in Syria?
Where were the pro-Palestinian protesters when Syria demolished Yarmouk and other Palestinian refugee camps?
Why were they silent in the face of the massacres, rapes and arson of hundreds of thousands of Rohingya Moslems?
Why didn’t they march against the atrocities committed by Isis?
Why aren’t they also protesting this month’s atrocities and murders of hundreds of people in Darfour, Sudan?
During World War II, did anyone call for a cease fire between United States and Germany and Japan even though the loss of innocent civilian lives was far greater?
Yet, now they are quick to support Hamas, protesting on behalf of Palestinians while ignoring, and thus condoning, the atrocities committed by Hamas on October 7.
Are they anti-Semitic? Some of them are, for sure. But many have had a knee jerk reaction for whom they perceived to be the underdog. They jumped on the bandwagon without thinking, without examining sources, without asking questions, ignorant of history.
Nothing is black and white. Yes, Palestinians and Israelis both share responsibility for their history of problems. But nothing whatsoever can justify using innocent civilians in hospitals and schools to protect Hamas military bases. Nothing whatsoever can justify the massacre, rapes and kidnapping of innocent civilians. Both Palestinians and Israelis are the victims of cruelty and single-minded hate of Hamas and, tragically, the pro-Palestinian protesters are clueless.
