Lebanese security forces bust terrorist cell planning new attack from Syria
The Lebanese state security forces busted a terrorist sleeper cell in the city of Tripoli that was in contact with militants in Syria to launch a new attack on Lebanon.
According to a communique from Beirut, the Lebanese security forces busted the terrorist cell inside the Bab Al-Ramel District of Tripoli.
The terrorist cell consisted of three men that were operating under the direct authority of militants inside Syria.
Meanwhile, in southern Lebanon, the security forces arrested two Syrians in the Nabatieh Governorate over allegations that they were members of Jabhat Al-Nusra.
With the war winding down in Syria, the Lebanese security forces have begun actively searching for the final remnants of the jihadist groups that once operated along the Syrian-Lebanese border.
