Kyrgyz foreign minister suggests Islamic State and Al Qaeda may have terror cells in Central Asia

“I suppose Al Qaeda, IS and other international terrorist groups may have clandestine cells in the Central Asian states, which are interested in propaganda of their ideology,” Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“As for such sleeping cells, they are not about Taliban. Taliban leaders said more than once before they are focused on domestic agenda and do not have plans to expand beyond the country,” FM Kazakbaev said.

As for ensuring security, the universally accepted algorithms of actions and measures exist in the world. Kyrgyzstan undertakes same actions like other Central Asian states in the framework of bilateral cooepration and regional organizations, FM Kazakbaev said.
