Kurdish Peshmerga carries out a security operation against the Islamic State near Tuz Khurmato
Peshmerga forces carried out a security operation on ISIS positions near Tuz Khurmato district in Salah al-Din province.
In a statement, Peshmerga Ministry said that the operation targeted ISIS positions in villages and areas belonging to Tuz Khurmato, where are the dens for terrorists, who fled to an unknown destination before the forces reached them.
Peshmarga its forces destroyed several dens and locations of terrorists, in which an element in Peshmerga was injured, as a result of an explosive device.
Peshmerga and Asaish forces launched a massive military operation on Sunday afternoon to expel ISIS members in “Dawda” area between Kafri and Tuz Khurmato district.
This area has recently witnessed a remarkable activity of the militants organization by kidnapping civilians.
According to the received information, Peshmerga and Asaish forces clashed with the militants of the organization in “Dawda” area, killing a number of them still chasing others in the valleys.
After the events of October 16, 2017, Dawda witnessed a security vacuum and it became a focus for ISIS armed groups, as no official forces were present in it.
