Key Islamic State commander involved in foreign terrorists infiltration detained by the Afghan authorities
A key Islamic State or so called IS-K commander, who was responsible for penetration of foreign terrorists along with their family members inside Afghanistan, was arrested in eastern Kunar province on Tuesday night, Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.
The Afghan commandos arrested Mohammad Sayed, the Islamic State commander who was responsible for transferring foreign fighters from abroad into the province for terroristic attacks, the ministry said in a statement.
According to the ministry, he was one of the planners of the Jalalabad prison attack, in which at least 29 people were killed and over 50 others wounded.
