In early 2018, Awad, a Gaza-based Hamas financial associate, coordinated with the same Gaza-based Hamas financial facilitator, leveraged by Sarur, to provide hundreds of thousands of dollars in deposits for Hamas.
As of 2017, the Izz-Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades worked through Awad to distribute funds to the families of “martyrs” in the West Bank. Also in 2017, Awad coordinated the mismanagement of certain Hamas prisoner entitlement funds.
