Joint Ops: Intelligence systems still pursuing remaining Daesh gangs

Joint Ops Deputy Commander, Lieutenant General Qais Al-Muhammadawi, confirmed on Saturday that the intelligence systems are still pursuing the remaining Daesh terrorist gangs.

“Lieutenant General Al-Muhammadawi, Deputy Commander of Joint Operations – received in his office – the Commander of the French Forces in the Middle East, Admiral Linier, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the officers of the Joint Ops Command,” said the Joint Ops Command in a statement – received by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.

Al-Muhammadawi stressed that “the training and experience gained by the security forces in the battles against Daesh terrorist gangs helped them develop and advance the capabilities of the security units and intelligence systems that are still pursuing the remaining Daesh gangs and directing painful blows at them.”

“Cooperation according to bilateral memoranda that are consistent with the constitution, the government’s approach and the senior security leadership is important,” he added, emphasizing “the importance of empowering and equipping the armed forces, as well as using modern technology and technical equipment to develop the capabilities of the Iraqi forces,” extending his thanks to the French units and their advisors “for their distinguished positions in the war against the terrorist Daesh, their clear and distinguished contribution in providing advice, empowerment and assistance with training and exchanging expertise.”

In turn, the commander of the French forces in the Middle East praised “the great development witnessed by Iraq and the high capabilities of the Iraqi security forces.”
